Cystitis is a common urinary tract infection (UTI) which usually affects women more than men. It’s not considered an STI however it is possible to contract it by being sexually active. While the infection itself is not a cause for concern, it can be painful and cause discomfort, especially when urinating. Oftentimes cystitis will get better by itself, however there are some effective medications to ease this process and help clear it up.
